Today it happened.
Almost six months from the time when the various areas of the road were marked out for repairs, the Contractors working for Hampshire County Council moved in.
Five men, one truck and one lorry set up to go to work. In six hours they had, sort of repaired, two section of road surface together with having a tea break of some twenty minutes and a lunch break of about a hour an hour.
Without exaggeration, I could have carried out the works on my own in half the time and with no breaks.
It is therefore quite obvious that the French owned firm Colas is losing money hand over fist or they have such a cast iron lucrative contract with Hampshire County Council that they can employ people to help them waste our money.
Whichever way it is it is dreadful when we hear of the money saving which has to be made in Local Government.
Give me the equipment and the materials and I will build a team that will carry out the works without going bust or fleecing the County.
Anyone want to join in?
